Piper Thomas Francis Matthews
Tom was born in November 1942. He graduated from Power Memorial Academy High School and entered the Army in 1962 and was stationed in Germany until 1965. He was active in the National Guard and was activated for the Gulf War in 1990, where he proudly served in Operation Desert Storm and Desert Shield. Tom retired with the rank of Major in 1994.
In 1965 after returning from Germany Tom joined the NYPD where he served for 26 years and retired at the rank of Captain.
In 2003 Tom joined the Band of Brothers. In 2005 Tom was appointed Bagpipe Instructor until his untimely passing.
